"You can find home through food"- Chef cristina Martinez

The space is designed to bring people together and transport them to Mexico. The design is a mix of industrial rustic raw finish materials along with patterns and colors that are associated with Mexico. Since the Mexican interiors have a very raw aesthetic whether it is the materiality, or the finish and the detailing is added using patterned textiles or hand crafted or painted tiles or décor elements. The restaurant owner, Cristina Martinez is a native of Capulhuac, Mexico. In 2015, she opened a permanent restaurant, South Philly Barbacoa. She is proud of her culture and wanted to share her passion with a space that represents the true side of her heritage.
