Teresa is over 50 years old and is an average size woman. She is a very active and outgoing woman and enjoys being productive. Enjoys independence and working on her own terms. She likes the feeling of being financially independent and loves her job at megaphone. She wishes to travel the world and learn new cultures. She currently works at Hastings and Nanaimo street.
Concept Tool
The concept tool is inspired by the shape of a hug, it is a linear representation of the same. The tool allows us to clearly express the concept while providing functionality in the space. The tool enables us to eliminate the feeling of total enclosure while providing a secure environment. The concept diagram is used in layers in vertical as well as horizontal aspects of the design to make the space feel safe and warm (like a hug) yet open.
Concept Statement
The intent of the design is to emulate a hug that wraps the space as well as the user. The space is meant to provide an experience of comfort and completeness. Symbolic, linear forms of a hug are used in layers to add security and wholesomeness in the unit. Light, muted tones with minimalistic designs coincides with Scandinavian and Danish styles. The space further emphasizes the concept of a hug as it includes many warm elements that will enwrap the user such as warm lighting, plush carpeting and penetrations for natural light. The overall design is meant to make the space functional, nourishing and personal for the client.
